‘Barbie’ Tops ‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ in North America for 2023.

The movie "Barbie" has officially earned the most money in North America this year.

Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling's fantasy-comedy directed by Greta Gerwig has surpassed "The Super Mario Bros.

Movie," which had previously held the title, with a domestic box office haul of $575.4 million.

Barbie has made $1.3 billion in global box office revenue and will shortly beat "Mario" ($1.35 billion) as the highest global release of 2023.

Only two Hollywood blockbusters this year have surpassed the $1 billion barrier, and it should be noted that neither of them was a superhero movie or a follow-up to a successful franchise.

With the best year-to-date opening ($162 million), "Barbie" began its record-breaking theatrical run in July and held the top spot for four straight weekends.

Additionally, it had the biggest opening weekend ever for a female-directed movie and became the highest-grossing film ever.

"Barbie" is currently the 20th-largest global release and the 14th-largest domestic release of all time.

The superhero epic "The Dark Knight" ($536 million) was recently overtaken by "Barbie" as Warner Bros.' highest-grossing domestic picture.

As the studio's highest-grossing international film in a century, it may eventually surpass "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" ($1.34 billion), which debuted in 2011.
