Kevin Costner was forced to pay ex-wife Christine Baumgartner far less child support than she had requested after accusing her of "gamesmanship of the worst sort" during their bitter divorce battle.
According to TMZ, a judge determined Friday that the 68-year-old "Yellowstone" singer would be compelled to pay Baumgartner only $63,209 each month.
In court filings obtained by TMZ earlier this month, the 49-year-old handbag designer requested that Costner pay her roughly $175,057 each month so that their three children could experience the same lifestyle with each parent.
In July, a judge determined that Costner must pay his estranged wife $129,755 each month in child support for his three children, despite the fact that she had originally requested the court's ruling.
This comes after Baumgartner allegedly accused Costner of "withholding" evidence of his money in a California Superior Court document acquired by People in August.
The judgment brings to an end a tumultuous months-long tale that began in May, when the famous couple filed for divorce, alleging "irreconcilable differences" after an 18-year marriage.
Costner eventually arrived in court on Friday and took the witness, where he was grilled about his finances and the money he accumulated while starring in the now-cancelled Paramount hit show "Yellowstone," which paid him $1,468,953 each month.
"Somewhere along the line, they wanted to change things," Costner remarked of the series' production. "We did bargain. There were challenges with creativity.
I attempted to break the logjam. They took a step back." Costner was also questioned about his five-lot beachfront property, which Baumgartner estimates is worth $75-$95 million.
She is apparently renting a $40,000-per-month home, which she claims is inadequate for her and her children, and she intends to upgrade to a $150,000-per-month home with her sought child support payments.
