Miley Cyrus recognized marriage to Liam Hemsworth was over: ‘Loved but also trauma’
Miley Cyrus is continuing to be open about her life's journey.
On her TikTok series "Used to Be Young," she discussed the moment she realized her marriage to Liam Hemsworth was gone.
According to Cyrus, it happened during her performance at the 2019 Glastonbury music festival.
"Which was when the decision had been made that me and Liam's commitment to being married.
Of course came from a place of love first because we had been together for 10 years."
But also from a place of trauma and just trying to rebuild as quickly as we could."
The "Flowers" singer and Hemsworth wed in December 2018, a month after California wildfires destroyed their house.
The two had been in an on-again, off-again relationship since 2010.
"I had decided it was no longer going to work in my life to be in that relationship," Cyrus continued. "The day of the [Glastonbury] show was the day."
That was another instance in which the performance, the work, and the character came first. I suppose that's why it's now so crucial to me that the human comes first and that's not the case.
