Olivia Dunne reveals empowering message behind SI Swim shoot

In a recent video from her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit photoshoot, the LSU star gymnast — who is presently the NCAA's highest-paid female athlete, earning seven figures — discussed managing gymnastics, college coursework, and her modeling job.

"When people look at my Sports Illustrated photos, I want them to take away that you can have the best of both worlds," Dunne, who debuted in the 2023 issue of SI Swimsuit, stated.

"You can be an athlete, go to school, do modeling, but you can have the best of both worlds — and you can be a strong, independent woman while doing it all," the 20-year-old ended in the video.

"[Olivia Dunne] wants women to know that you CAN have the best of both worlds," SI Swimsuit explained in the caption.

Dunne, who came to Puerto Rico for her first editorial shoot with SI Swim, wore a string bikini by Burberry in its traditional beige and plaid print, as well as a cut-out, thong two-piece by Entire Studios.

Dunne and LSU basketball star Angel Reese were the only collegiate athletes to appear in the 2023 SI Swimsuit issue, which was published in May.

Both players expressed their love for their respective sports and stressed their commitment to advancing female athletes at the university level.

"As a female athlete, I hope that I can bring attention to how amazing college sports are and how hard college athletics are," Dunne told SI Swimsuit.
